Yes, this painting is seen elsewhere on the site, but it's also an example of another possibility to consider. The photo is quite blurry (see Details), and so was unacceptable for a finely-rendered painting; it was however, just fine for the kind of primitive, "Artist and Garret" feel I was looking for. No fancy brushwork here, just slap, slap, slap, and it's done. In my experience, most women don't want to be slapped around like this, but I do portraits of men too. With good reference photos and no time-consuming details to paint, a painting like this takes just a few days. |
